Rukum is the attraction district in natural beauty. There are many places that can be the good destination for tourism are. One of the great expect of Rukumeli is tourism development so, the government is also trying to come the tourist in this area. There are many unexplored tourism area because of the geographical structure and many more hazards. We have many popular and famous tourism area that are explored and recognized such as: Mt. Sisne, Shyarpu Lake, Kamal Lake, Pupalu Daha (Lake), Sun Daha, Gupta Daha, Sampe lake, Deurali Cave, Takasera Magar Community, Rangshi Village, Koal Village, Hukam Viallage, Maikot Village, Mahat Village, Kanda Village, Sima Mangolian Cultures, Gotamkot Village, Dhorpatan Hunter Reserve, Sani Bheri, Thuli Bheri, Yarcha Gumba area, Buki and Patan etc.
Shyarpu Lake is the greatest lake among Rapti zone. Its located nearly 2.6 sq. km, it has one strange feature. It has various colours in various season and it is alos known as “Little Rara”. We can reach about 4hr from the headquarter to shyarpu lake. To increase the tourism development “1st Shyarpu Tourist Rally” held from Aashwin 11-15,2068 in beside of Shyarpu Lake. Kamal Lake is also important for tourism development. We can reach there about 5hr by trekking and about 3hr by taxi. The best season for kamal lake is Bhadra-Aaswin because in this time lotus are blooming.
There are 2 tributary rivers of Karnali river, Sani Bheri anad Thuli Bheri. It has the potential rafting development. There is also the origin of hot water. It is located shore of the Sani Bheri in Pokhara VDC. People bath in this origin to become healthy. In this place we can cook rice in handkerchief after 15 minutes. There is another origin of hot water is in pelma, Maikot VDC.
To do tourist management “home stay” is also contributing in occasion of tourism year 2011 and hotel and lodges are increasing for tourism facility. There is District Tourist development Committee in the chief of Local Development minister and in occasion of tourism year 2011 Nepal Tourist Year-2011 District Co-ordination Committee Rukum is established in chief of CDO. To spread the beauty of Rukum district there are many tasks, to complete this task we all should be together.
